Colorado Trail - July 15, 2025

This was the last wilderness detour on the route and went around the Weminuche Wilderness. I chose to take the ‘old’ detour which travels from Lake City to Silverton over Cinnamon Pass.

There were numerous jeeps, ATVs and motorbikes on this route. Nearly everyone was overly friendly. Multiple ATVs stopped me to offer water and complements. I reciprocated by taking pictures on the pass for a group of dirt bikers.

I really wanted pizza in Silverton; however, the one pizza restaurant was closed due to “running out of food”

37 Miles and 4500 feet of gain.
