Colorado Trail - July 7, 2025

Remainder of the Lost Creek Wilderness detour and the first 7 miles of Segment 6. This day took me from the Goose Creek Campground to Aspen Campground.

This was the only day on the trail where we ran out of water. We went by the ‘StageStop’ on Colorado county road 77 and it appeared closed on a Monday morning, so we kept riding in hope that there was water to treat out of on or the creeks on Segment 5. There wasn’t. Thankfully, Kenosha Pass wasn’t too far, and the wonderful Camp Host at Kenosha West campground had water, food and good stories for Colorado Trail users.

I earned a new trail name on this day. Non Sequitur, for my ability to tell stories that had no obvious connection to the previous conversation.

62 miles and 7700 feet of gain
